Forest fires Rage in the valleys of Himalayas for Months now .. But Uttarakhand province of India already had their elections, so No news is News enough now. Western Nepal is sparsely Populated, so no one really cares. Himachal has elections coming, so No forest fire news can come from there
As NASA earth pictures can show you all that all the thermal anomalies caused by Forest fires. Here they are represented by Red dots.
It's not one day event , fires , especially in Forests has been raging in for couple of months now. Here is an example from March.
Now, isn't that cute ...
The Silence of the Lambs ( of Mainstream Media). India now exports cheap journalists to global News outlets like BBC, CNN, New York Times, DW and what not. Nobody figured this out?
NASA-earth is a free to use website. Still Newsmen can't track the burning Mountains.
Such huge sets of fires , so close to the Mountain glaciers is definitely bad news for glaciers already battling unusually high temperatures. Don't blame me if a glacial flood comes down the steep burned out slopes and causes huge landslides accentuating the floods.
Don't cry "Tsunami, Tsunami,
Why no one told me" then.
